A fire is over in minutes. The damage from smoke, soot and the water used to put it out keeps spreading for days. Fast, careful restoration is what stops a bad day from becoming a total loss.
We clean smoke and soot to IICRC standards and remove odours at the source instead of masking them.
What Fire Damage Really Involves
From years on the fire ground, we know how fire behaves inside a home, and what it leaves behind once the trucks are gone:
- Soot and smoke residue that is acidic and starts to stain and etch surfaces within hours.
- Smoke odour that gets into drywall, insulation, carpet, furniture and ductwork.
- Water damage from firefighting, which can lead to mold if it isn’t dried properly.
- Hidden damage behind walls and in attics that a quick visual check can miss.
Our Fire & Smoke Restoration Process
- Safety check and assessment. We walk the property, confirm it is safe to work in, and document all fire, smoke and water damage with photos and notes.
- Secure and stabilize. Board-up, tarping and protecting what can be saved from further damage.
- Water removal and drying. Extracting firefighting water and drying the structure with commercial dehumidification and moisture monitoring.
- Soot and smoke cleaning. HEPA vacuuming and cleaning methods matched to each surface and residue type.
- Odour removal. HEPA air scrubbing and deodorization to deal with the source of the smell, not just mask it.
- Repairs and rebuild. Coordinating the repairs needed to return your home to its pre-loss condition.
Working With Your Insurance
Most fire losses involve an insurance claim. We document the damage and the work as it happens, with photos and moisture readings, so your adjuster has a clear record and you are not left chasing paperwork.
What to Do Right After a Fire
- Only go back in once the fire department says it is safe.
- Call your insurance company to open a claim.
- Avoid wiping soot off walls or furniture; it can smear and set the stain.
- Do not turn on the furnace or HVAC until the system has been checked; it can spread soot through the house.
- Call for restoration as early as you can. The sooner cleaning starts, the more can be saved.
